Zhangjiajie National Park Forest

Narrow sandstone pillars, some over 650 feet high, fill the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan Province, China. The park is one of several within the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Cable cars and an incredible elevator attached to the side of a giant pillar are available to see the incredible sites. The surreal alien landscape and scenery looks like the set from the movie Avatar. This is not a coincidence.

According to park officials, photographs from Zhangjiajie inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains seen in the film. One of the park’s quartz-sandstone pillars, the 3,540 foot Southern Sky Column (third picture), has been officially renamed “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain.”

Cathy Brennan, radical “feminist” terrorist, has set her sights on a young black activist in Baltimore County, MD. Phylicia Sampson is being taken to court by Brennan, a notorious harasser of trans women and their supporters. Sampson is a recent college grad with few resources, no car and no way to fight back without your help.

As a community, we’ve suffered Brennan’s assaults for a long time—her blog is the best known for outing trans women’s personal information. She believes trans women are men who are infiltrating the feminist community and expends her resources fighting them. The idea that she is now taking her harassment to a legal venue is horrifying. That she has selected a young black woman with few resources to fight back is repugnant.

Day 116 (day 77 @ 40mg).

I had some crazy dreams last night and woke up trying frantically to remember if some things had happened in reality or if I had dreamed them. Was relieved when I sorted it all out, and it was all dreams.

After I woke up, my phone rang and even though I didn’t recognize the number, I answered it. I knew I had a psychiatrist appointment scheduled some time this week, but couldn’t remember when, and thought the call might be from the counseling office. Instead, it was my bank calling about possible fraud on my account. I figured it was because I used my debit/charge card in San Diego, but then it turned out there were actual fraudulent charges on my account from yesterday and today. I think someone stole my card number when I was in San Diego, the timing is just too coincidental. But there’s no way of knowing exactly where it happened. We sorted out which transactions were mine and which weren’t, filed a dispute for the one fraudulent charge which went through, and cancelled my card. Now I’m waiting for a new card to come in the mail. I hope the person who stole my card number gets an equivalent inconvenience in their life. All in all, it could have been much worse. And the lady on the phone was super nice, so that helped a lot. I do love my bank. It was an inauspicious way to start my day, but the rest of the day actually went pretty well.

I forgot we were having the carpets cleaned today, but it was kind of a perfect day to have it done, since I was determined to stay home in my pajamas all day anyway. After the carpets were done, I relaxed back on my bed and watched True Blood and some shows on Hulu while I waited for the carpet to dry a bit. Then I unpacked (something that usually takes me days or even weeks to do) and sorted out loads of laundry to wash tomorrow. I cleaned up my bathroom counter and medicine cabinet a big, while I was putting my unpacked toiletries away. I got a bunch of small things done today, and still found time to do a face mask, which felt awesome.

Tomorrow I have dinner plans, but I think I’m going to stay in during the day and do laundry and such. I’m still kind of worn out from vacation, so another day of taking it easy seems like a good plan. It felt so great to be home today, I was in a really good mood all day. I’m super happy right now. Also, super sleepy. Time for another good night’s sleep in my own bed.
